Dartmoor Devon B&B Hotels Self-catering Camping & Youth Hostels and camping barns
Want to find the best Camping in Devon?
We have some great camp sites on Dartmoor. You can find some of these new camping pods at a couple of our
campsites, and I reckon they will become very popular. It's camping without bringing the tent.
Everything else all your camping gear, stove, beds, table, are needed, as the pods are empty save for a carpet,
a blind of the window, a heater and a window at the rear. But look, they have a seating deck in front of the large
windows and the ones at Langstone Manor (see below) are priced from £35 per night for a smaller sleeps 2 pod
for 3 nights at low season, to £55 for a family pod at the height of the summer, again for a minimum 3 night stay.
Whether you have just a 2 man tent on your walking holiday, or a large campervan that requires an electric
hookup and hard standing, you will want to find just the right campground on the Moor.
Dartmoor offers both the smaller seasonal location with very few facilities but wonderful scenery and the more
organised holiday parks with shower blocks, free hot water and possibly a shop or swimming pool. Some Dartmoor
farmers even open up a spare field now and again when an annual event is on in the locality such as Widecombe Fair.

Because Dartmoor is such a vast national park we offer the whole range of facilities from youth hostels and camping
barns to luxury family holiday parks and everything in between. You are allowed to camp out in the open on Dartmoor for a night or two, provided you are not within 100metres of a road, and provided you pitch your tent in a sensible place
(the National Park Rangers are allowed to move you if they think that you are not in a sensible spot) but be aware of
likely flooding or free ranging cattle, sheep and horses, and of course stick strictly to the country code at all times. Do not assume that all water on the Moor is drinkable, there might be a dead animal half a mile upriver...better to be safe than sorry! You can't just park a caravan overnight on Dartmoor without permission as there are strict byelaws.
