This whole cottage in the country is available to let, OR you can book just the ground floor. On site are productive glasshouses and stock, sheep, ponies called Juniper and Jester, ducks and hens, ideal for visiting children. With a very strong self sufficiency ethic they sell surplus fruit and vegetables to lucky visitors. Ruth and Chris are totally into self sufficiency and will readily explain their sustainability projects - PVs, solar thermals, log boiler system and methane gas collection.
7 holiday lets on a working farm near Moretonhampstead. You'll find the makings for a cup of tea on your arrival (3pm onwards) then if it is summer why not take a dip in the outdoor heated pool and meet fellow guests? Sleeping from 2 to 6, these cottages are 'all in' which means no hidden extras to fork out for. You can safely walk into town via footpath from the farm. Our accommodation is open all year and lovely and warm in winter thanks to our biomass boiler central heating throughout. Wood burners in some of the accommodation too.

The Hemphouse has a delightful open-plan living room, kitchen and dining area, fronted with beautiful windows looking out over the valley towards Brentor. Situated in a smallholding where Chris and Ruth have their own chickens, goats, horses and sheep and lead a very sustainable way of life. The Hemphouse has one single bedroom downstairs, with an en suite toilet and shower room. This room also contains the washing machine and tumble dryer. Upstairs, the landing area is bookended by a double bedroom on one end, and a twin bedroom on the other. There is one upstairs bathroom with sink, toilet and bath. “These are basic, without frills, solid and worthy lets. The curtains may well be slightly faded, but the welcome from Ruth and Chris is completely genuine. They want you to share their way of life, get close to their much loved livestock, go out and discover Dartmoor for yourself. Stay here and you will have a taste of the Good Life"

Langstone Manor Holiday Park has two 5-star holiday cottages and an upstairs apartment in the manor house all located in the grounds of a small, family run holiday park just on the outskirts of Tavistock and offers walks directly on to the Moor. You you will benefit from the onsite Langstone Bar for evening meals and a relaxing drink (seasonal opening times). Maple and Honeysuckle Cottage both offer three bedrooms (two doubles), Maple Cottage even has a four poster if you are looking for something extra special. The apartment, Pew Tor is upstairs in the manor house and has been completely modernised transforming it into a spacious, light and airy apartment with open plan living.
The Coachhouse is set on a lovely farmstead just 2 miles south-west of Lydford. You are invited to go anywhere on the 250 acre working farm and help is always accepted, or alternatively you can enjoy lazing by the outdoor heated swimming pool! If the weather takes a turn for the worse, never fear the Coachhouse has it's own indoor 'endless' pool, sauna and games room. The property has 5 bedrooms (1 ensuite, double, twin, single and children's room with two sets of 3' bunk beds). Tremendous freedom is offered and there are a number of activities for both children and adults. Meals are also available in the owners house that is a B&B.
I'm going to recommend East Hook Holiday Cottages to you without even seeing them. When Ruth rang me to ask if she could come on board, she sounds so passionate about her farm and the way they run the farm that I just know that holidaymakers will enjoy staying with her. It's a farm with beef cattle, sheep, bike rides straight onto cycleway 27, walks galore, Tarka Trail 1/2 mile, a strong green environmental policy, wildlife on the farm, swifts nesting, spring lambs, 3 letting cottages, panoramic views and reasonable prices. Guests are given a welcome pack with free range eggs, sausages, and in season, their own apple juice.

Two self catering units alongside the Country House accommodation here at Harrabeer. One on the ground floor, one upstairs. Sleeping from 2 to 4 in each let with plenty of stonework and beams on show from what was once an old stone barn. Guests are welcome to enjoy the licensed bar and restaurant that the hotel offers, along with the pretty garden.
2 bedroom and 3 bedroom timber clad lodges in this quiet quality campsite in a most picturesque setting alongside the River Tavy. A delightful family run site which has 125 pitches for camping and touring caravans, some static caravans and these 2 upmarket lodges. I went along to see inside them on a cold January day and was very impressed. They are modern, warm and spacious, light and spotlessly clean. Very swish indeed. Well equipped with everything from microwave to outside folding chairs to make the most of the relaxing verandah. Cox Tor has a family bathroom with shower and bath, and there is an en-suite shower room in the double bedroom. Electricity and bed linen included - just bring your own towels and tea towels. The kids will love the playpark and the riverbank. Everyone loves the resident ducks. Fly fishing available.
