Self catering holiday accommodation on Dartmoor

Self catering is perfect for folks who like their own company. Because once you have booked in and been shown the accommodation, you can organise the holiday to suit yourselves.If you feel like a lie in each day, then get up when you want. If you feel like spending the day in front of the television watching Wimbledon for a fortnight then go ahead.
If, on the other hand you like to be out and about during the day, taking in the breathtaking Dartmoor scenery, then saunter back to your holiday cottage whenever you want. If you fancy calling into a local pub on your way home at night, most will provide a cooked meal up to 9 o'clock. It's much easier to take children on holiday in self catering properties, and most lets welcome children; providing a high chair, cot and in some cases a stair gate for toddlers. This large bedroom above is a self catering cottage at Hunter's Lodge at Dartmeet in the centre of the Moor that sleeps 2 / 5.
It has a view of the river Dart and a most pleasant garden with seating and a table where you can sit with a tray of tea.

Small but cosy self catering unit with a massive view. A cute hideaway with deer through the window and wildlife all around.
Wendy and Dennis are horse friendly folk, so livery is available. This is a place for just 2 adults with a very definite non smoking rule.
The living room and bedroom are both up steep stairs, so NO CHILDREN and it would be difficult for the less able bodied.
The drive is not smooth, but the let is right on the Two Moors Way and the Mariner's Way so would be an excellent base.
Dogs by arrangement with the owners. You will need to discuss your dog's nature before you come.

Nowadays all holiday cottages offer bed linen in the price, and the vast majority supply towels. But take my advice and check these details when you are booking. You won't want to rush out and buy towels for a week the minute you arrive.

Expect to find your holiday let equipped with all the usual kitchen equipment you will need to cook a 2 course meal.
Also normally provided are; toilet paper, explanations of the workings of any gadgets, how to get in touch with the key-holder, and in most cases a wadge of information on all the local eating places, gardens open, family day out locations etc.

I would expect the wherewithal to make a cup of tea, perhaps a pack of biscuits and at the best places, a home made cake. I think you will have a great holiday at all these places we have on offer. If you have any quibbles at all then please get in touch with me and let me know so that I can diplomatically sort them out. We encourage helpful suggestions.
