On the west of Dartmoor in Devon Lydford Gorge is perhaps the most well known thing about this village between Okehampton and Tavistock. The waterfall known as White Lady Waterfall sits the top of the gorge and fast and furious Devil's Cauldron is at the bottom. You can walk around the edge of the gorge, but it's not for the faint hearted. A less nerve racking walk is on a winding path that overlooks the Gorge. The National Trust entrance and shop has literature
and a refreshment room close the northern end, where you can get a reviving pot of tea during the summer months. Wheelchair users can only enjoy parts of the pathways as large stretches would be impossible. But folks with wheelchairs will certainly enjoy the nearby Granite Way cycle route nearby. Meldon Viaduct is especially spectacular and the very pretty church at Sourton is accessible from the path.
