Colcharton Farm B&B home of Lowenna Edwards
Jill Pendleton's review of this farm B&B not far from Tavistock.

Jane and I called in to visit Lowenna at Colcharton on Friday 9th April during Easter week.

She showed us around her 3 letting rooms. The room at the front of the house and at ground level, is a
double with
small shower room (door on right) enclosing a shower and toilet, the wash hand basin is in the room.
Although the bed is antique it has a new, quality mattress on. Tv, and hospitality tray in the room.

Here is the twin room at the rear of the house, it too has a small shower room with toilet, and again the wash hand
basin within the room. All rooms come with a tea/coffee tray with fresh milk on offer. Another ground floor room.

This ground floor double room at the rear of the house has a super large bathroom with a corner spa bath - see below.

This is a working farm with lambs happily grazing in adjacent fields. There is a farm trail for you to enjoy.

Lowenna herself is very outgoing and hospitable. She has been a Devon landlady for the last 25 years.
A keen gardener and flower arranger, her home is most comfortable with plenty of books and information to
hand in the large conservatory. The sitting room has an open fire and television, with the option of a
television in your own room if you prefer. Everything is on the ground floor.
As soon as we arrived we were offered a cup of tea, and when we had taken
lots of pictures, we all ended up in the conservatory with not only tea, but some very tasty home made cake. This is obviously how she welcomes every guest.
Some of her guests have been coming twice a year for over 12 years, which doesn't surprise me in the least.
She is the kind of lady who if you mentioned that you had been slightly chilly the
evening before, you would
arrive back from today's evening out to find the heating yanked right up, an electric blanket
on your bed, and
a selection of hot water bottles to hand.... The selection of cereals and fruit in the dining room
tells me all
I need to know.
You certainly won't go hungry. Send an e-mail an enquiry to Lowenna.
