Parford Well Bed and Breakfast near to Chagford on Dartmoor.
Even on a fristy frosty morning in January Parford Well was warm and welcoming.
Tim the owner had some mince pies (excellent pastry) warming to go with the fresh coffee.

else, then I recommend a walk down the far side of the river, downstream to the utterly beautiful Fingle Bridge.a bust of a young girl on one of the windowsills at Parford Well B&B pretty cruet in the dining room at Parford Well B&B

It really is an elegant house, with masses of attention to detail.I love recommending Tim's to foreign visitors as
it's such a wonderfully English place to stay. Come home from your day's sightseeing and you just know that Tim

with impeccable good manners will ask you all about it. Years ago I listed it in Chagford's accommodation
leaflet as ' a muffins for tea kind of place'. I thought that then and I still think it now. It's the perfect place to
stay for visitors to Castle Drogo which is a short drive away. And because of the high number of good National
Trust properties in this area, I suggest that this would make a very good base for a whole week of looking at the
open gardens and historic buildings that you will find here. Exeter is about half an hour in the car, along the
A30 dual carriageway.
