an hour’s tuition with a professional photographer to the Winner of this class, plus free props and film processing.
The winner is allowed to bring immediate family members to be photographed. and the Professional will take one
shot of the whole group) This prize is worth £100

HORTICULTURAL  SECTION  SHOW

Under the Classification of Dahlias the Following Sizes are Given 

Decorative  Large flowered:   over 8" but not usually exceeding 10" in diameter.

& Cactus          Medium flowered: over 6" but not usually exceeding 8" in diameter.

            Small flowered:   over 4" but not usually exceeding 6" in diameter.

Ball         over 4" but not usually exceeding 6" in diameter.

The flowers, fruit and foliage in the Flower Arranging Classes need not have been 
grown by the exhibitor.

Natural plant material, i.e. fresh or dried plant material, or both, or wood
weathered by  any of the elements is regarded as dried plant material.

Unless otherwise stated all arrangements to face one way.

Overall means 'Cube' measurement.  All arrangements to include foliage unless stated otherwise.

All fresh material for arrangements must be in water or water retaining material.

        Chagford judged on 9th August

24.     RON  KINGSLAND  PRODUCE  CUP for the best tray of produce from Chagford allotments

25.   DREWE SALVER given by Mrs. Margaret Drewe for the family gaining most points in all classes.

    ECLECTIC CUP given by Mr & Mrs R Anderson. Awarded by the Committee for the most

                 outstanding exhibit in the Show.    

All trophies will be presented in the Flower Tent at 4.30 p.m.

Challenge Trophies MUST be returned please to Thomas the Bakers, The Square,  Chagford,

 at least 14 days prior to the next Annual Show.

RULES 

1     Competitors must complete the Entry Form contained in this Schedule and forward    

it, together with the appropriate entrance fee, to Mrs. Liz Elliott-Shircore or

Thomas the Bakers on or before  4.30pm  ON  MONDAY  18TH AUGUST 2008. 

2.    An Exhibitor shall be allowed to have no more than two entries in any one class. 

3.    Young persons must stage their exhibits themselves in the tent without assistance.      
This applies to all classes in the Youth Section.  They are also requested to state     
their age on their Entry Form. 

4.    Entrance Fees for each entry in all open classes will be 40p -  Youth classes 30p.       
An exhibitor making entries totalling more than £6 will be sent 1 free entrance ticket       
to the Show.    Late entries (after 4.30 pm on 18th August)  are charged at £1 per entry. 

5.    The Exhibitor will be supplied with a numbered card for each exhibit, which must be      
affixed by the Exhibitor.  Exhibitors should collect these cards at the Show Tent when      
staging their exhibits. 

6.    All exhibits must be the property of, and have been cultivated by, the Exhibitor for at      
least three months, except where otherwise stated.  The Committee reserves the right      
to visit the gardens of all intending exhibitors.

7.    Exhibits may  be  staged  from  5 - 6.30pm on Wednesday 20th August  and  from       
7.30am to 9.00am on Thursday 21st August.  Stewards and exhibitors only will be      
allowed in the tent before 9.00am on the 21st at which time the tent will be cleared for  
judging.  Stewards on duty will remain during  the judging which will commence at 9.30am.

8.    The Horticultural Tent will be opened to the public on completion of the judging. 
(It is hoped  this will be at noon or earlier).

 Horticultural judging will be conducted under RHS Rules. 
The decision of the Judges will be  final and they have the power to withhold any prize
if the exhibits are not, in their opinion, of sufficient merit to warrant an award.
An RHS Show Handbook is available at the desk.

10.   Exhibits may not be removed from the tent before 4.45pm, but  must  be collected     
before  5.30pm.Items left after 5.30pm will be disposed of at the discretion of the Committee. 

11.  Points for individual exhibits will be awarded as follows:

            1st. Prize 5 points           2nd. Prize 3 points           3rd. Prize 1 point

Classes 27 & 28:  1st. Prize 10 points          2nd. Prize 6 points           3rd. Prize 2 points 

12.   The Committee accepts no responsibility for any loss or accident that may occur to      
exhibitors  or members of the general public at the Show, and entries are accepted on this condition.

All exhibitors’ vehicles must display the enclosed ‘H’ car sticker to enter the show-ground 
for staging exhibits on Show Day.  All vehicles must enter the show field before 8.30am
and leave the showground before 9am on Show Day.
