Just a short walk from The Square, Cyprian's Cot is
one of Chagford's oldest houses. Dating back to the
16th century, it is what was known as a 'hall house'.
In days gone by the smoke from the domestic fire
would have found it's own way through the roof,
which was originally thatched.  These days it is a
family home with two comfortable letting rooms.

One  double with it's own
private bathroom, and one
twin with shower room en-suite.  Each bedroom
has tea/coffee making.
Both bedrooms have beams.
Shelagh asks guests not
to smoke in the bedrooms.

Excellent breakfasts using
high quality local  produce,
are
served in the cosy
panelled dining room.

Visitors here experience a
strong sense of history.
The sitting room boasts a
most impressive inglenook fireplace complete with
bread oven. Guests are
welcome to make themselves
at home, with a log fire on
offer for cooler evenings.
Colour t.v., books and maps
of the area are all to hand.
On sunny afternoons, guests
are invited to take tea in the
totally private garden, which
has far reaching moorland views.

Street parking or town car
park short stroll away.

The house is listed in
Alastair Sawday's
'Special Places to stay Bed
