Chagford town/village is about a 10 minute drive from here and it is really worth a  visit. Amazing shops, good places to eat. 4 pubs and a 15th century church. Don't miss taking a cream tea in The Old Forge Tearoom, where they have the best array of home made cakes in the countymade in the kitchen by Phill and served with old fashioned courtesy by Colin. www.theoldforgechagford.co.uk Can we reach the seaside ?  Yes, and if you check out the weather forecast on tv the evening before, then you will know whether to head for the South Coast (Torquay, Paignton, Plymouth) or the North coast (Bude, Barnstaple and Westward Ho !) North or South it will take you less than an hour to roll out your towel on the beach.  Allow yourselves plenty of time for spotting the ponies on Dartmoor too.... and scenery ...and walks, ......and 55 different flavours of ice creams in the local dairy ! |
