Please excuse this review for being brief. The office is taking all of my time at the moment as we move
forward with a database. Apparently all good stuff, but baffling for an old technophobe like me.
wine rack at 22 Mill Street, Chagford.breadbasket at the start of the meal with olive oil and balsamic vinegar to dip into
We were treated to a birthday meal by foodie pals George and Linda and I did not want to spend the
evening making notes or taking pictures. They told me 'It's our treat - no work tonight' but
then relented enough to let me take just one photo of each delicious plateful. So what you see here is
just what we had. From the appetisers of some lovely shreds of roast parnips to their exquisite version of
rhubard crumble and custard it was all top tastingly delicious.
RAviolo started at 22 Mill Street, in Chagford. Linda's main meal at 22 Mill Street in Chagford.
Rob and I opted for the Spring Set Dinner Menu - 3 courses. Starting with Smoked haddock Raviolo, which is
I suppose the singular word for Ravioli. Made in the kitchen and ever so slightly doughy, but as I ate it I thought
all the better for that. The fish was plentiful and the liquor was gorgeous.

Sad to say it's 3 weeks on now when I'm sitting to write the review and as I say, I didn't make notes, so you will
have to take it from me, the food was excellent, and we enjoyed all of it.

This above is the blade of beef, which was a new one on me. Shreds of braised beef formed into a sausage shape and slowly cooked, then sliced. It was very rich, and Rob finished mine off. All the vegetables were cooked perfectly.
And as you can see from the photos, each tasty plateful looked the part.

rhubarb crumble 22 Mill Street stylecheeseboard with 6 British cheeses
Here is the rhubarb and custard crumble that was served with honey ice cream. It was not like any rhubarb
crumble that I have ever eaten. I myself can cook a pretty mean fruit crumble, but this is in a league of it's own.
Linda chose the cheeseboard, and look at the huge selection that she got, all served how they should be, at room temperature, the board had 6 good British cheeses including a Sharpham Brie, an Exmoor Blue.

I had been keen to visit the restaurant as they have new manager and chef team Chantel and David Jenkins
in place. Chantel served us this evening and her husband David cooked all the yummy food.
And now I can recommend it to guests and happily report that it is well worth a visit.

The bill for 4 of us for lunch came to just over £40 including drinks. Website.
Will we go again ? Oh yes, in fact, I'd like to go every week.
