In May we called in rather late on at lunchtime to the cafe called No. 14 in the main street in Ashburton.
I must admit it was getting on for 2, so not surprisingly some of the items on the lunchtime menu had run out.

Great interior. Happy atmosphere. Friendly staff. Long wait before we were served and then a longer wait for the food to
come and what there was of it was very tasty, especially the home made soup and the ravioli , but our chum David had downed his pasta in 3 easy forkfuls, so not a place for hungry eaters, more a meeting venue for ladies who lunch.
Towards the rear of the cafe a man is busy on his laptop and he helpfully moves over to make space for us. 3 dictionaries sit by the wine rack for any bright spark with time to sit with the crossword. Indeed there is a half filled in newspaper

It's quality coffee and if requested, they will let you have a pot of good quality tea. The large plate glass windows
on to the busy high street provide an ideal screen for Nosey Parker peoplewatchers like me and I make a mental note to try and grab a window table next time I come which answers the all important question...
Will we go again ? Answer - Yes.
The fish pate was £6, the Ravioli £7.50 and the soup of the day £5.50.
