Within Dartmoor National Park and close to The National
Trust property Castle Drogo.
 
There's always fresh cake or flapjack and a pot of tea waiting
for guests to arrive. It's a homely place.

Comfortable and friendly with cotton sheets and pillowcases.
 
Breakfast is cooked on the aga in the kitchen. "What would you like ?.." Porridge cereals, yogurts, fruit, always English butter, bacon and
sausages. Fried bread like your Granny used to make. Free range eggs...fried, scrambled, poached perhaps ?
 
Swallows lodge with us in the summer, and when they leave the underfloor
heating goes on.  Thick white bathrobes are ready waiting for you. You

won't find any little plastic pots of UHT milk in your room. Fresh milk is
added to your hospitality tray along with fresh fruit and home made biscuits.     
Great walks along the River Teign are less than half a mile away.  Drying facilities for wet walkers and boots. Yummy packed lunches (£5 each) no problem.   Please click to see our   Visitor's Book
 
We kept the wonderful medieval door in the inner hall.  It's over
500 years old.  Guests comment on the quality of the conversion.
Take a look below at what we took on 10 years ago. The main wall
inside the house was a total rat run....."nice"

The garden was one concrete layer, covering thousands of
plastic feed bags ...... Our latest project is a raised herb bed
around the greenhouse.

Why not take a day's fishing whilst you are staying.
