Saturday 6th March 11am-5pm Alice in Wonderland Day To mark the release of the new Tim Burton film “Alice in Wonderland”, filmed at the National Trust’s Antony House in Cornwall. Why not follow the White Rabbit Trail around Castle Drogo, and enjoy the traditional children’s games, then make your own hat (12-3pm) to wear to the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party in our Café, where you can enjoy a wide selection of fancy cakes from 11.30am. Trail £1.50 per child (including prize). Mad Hat making activity £1.50 per child. Normal admission prices apply but there is special free entry to all children coming in Alice in Wonderland themed fancy dress – or if your name is Alice or Alistair!
Saturday 6th March Produce market on the 1st Saturday of each month at the Victory hall in Lewdown (between Exeter and Moretonhampstead) 10am to 1pm Stalls include Locally Baked Bread, Beef, Lamb, Pork, Poultry, Fish, Fruit & Veg, Herbs & Spices, Fresh Eggs, Tasty Local Cheese, Hand Made Fudges, Home made Preserves, Antiques and bric a brac.

The second of the Food Festivals at Moretonhampstead on Dartmoor, where local produce is on offer with street stalls
and plenty of samples. Running from 10 to 4pm. Breads, cheeses, organic vegetables, meat, lots to see and taste. Food demonstrations in the Parish Hall, art works, Morris dancing and song. I attended last year and the whole day was a blast. Parking on the outskirts of Moreton. Then Park + ride into town. Click if you fancy staying in Moreton overnight.

Saturday 20th March 9 'til 1p.m Okehampton farmers market has over 20 stalls in the centre of town on the third Saturday of each month. When the weather is right, there is a fresh fish stall, and every week you can buy locally produced meat, free range chicken, venison, bread and cider along with vegetables, herbs and yogurt.
