Hello and welcome to Dartmoor Accommodation.
It's a totally independent website run for over 13 years by me Jill Pendleton. Housewife and photographer.
This picture is of me with Tony Beard, the "Wag from Widecombe" at Chagford Show.
I live near to Chagford where my husband and I raised our kids and ran a bed and breakfast from 1984 to 1996, when we took on a huge barn conversion project, where we now live. We ran this as bed and breakfast when the work was finished.
In the past few years the Dartmoor Accommodation
website has taken up a great deal of my time, so this is what I do along with my photography and these days building websites for other people.
For 3 years from 1997 to 2000 whilst the brunt of the barn building work went ahead, I set up and ran the Chagford Tourist Information centre in town.
So I had a special reason to find out lots of information about Dartmoor and the accommodation providers all over the Moor. I love exploring Dartmoor and know the many owners of hotels, bed and breakfasts, self catering cottages and campsites you will find within these pages. During my time at the Tourist Information centre I was christened 'The fount of all knowledge'.
But I am always learning new and fascinating things about this incredible National Park that is Dartmoor.
