The Old Dairy B&B at Yelverton review by Jill Pendleton
24th November 2011.

Not much in the way of sunshine on my way over to visit the Old Dairy in late November, but Lesley Wright
had sounded keen to meet me, and I was looking forward to saying hello and getting my nose inside the Old Dairy.

By the time I'd driven past road works, slow lorries and what seemed like a small batallion of soldiers yomping
the moors, the clouds were even more grey, so it was nice to sit over a pot of tea chewing the fat about providing
bed and breakfast to the visiting public. She's fairly new to the business and I took my first paying guests in
in the early 80's. Not that I have time to take any guests now this website having become as large and busy as it is.

It soon became clear that Lesley and husband have spent considerable time and money turning this old Victorian
house into the lovely welcoming accommodation that it is today. They've turned a small room at the top of the stairs

into the 2 en-suite bathrooms for the large letting rooms that look out over the roundabout at the front.
One has a bath and shower with over (above left) and the other has a big shower cubicle. Neither room cramped.

This is bedroom number one and it is light and airy having windows back and front.

Both rooms have flat screen tv's, lightweight dressing gowns, wifi and complimentary tea/coffee trays
complete with bottled water, fruit, quality shortbread and biscuits.

This is bedroom two which has a smashing large bed, two singles pushed together. They can of course be separated should you wish to take the room as a twin. Whoops ! You can just see me in the shower room doorway in the mirror.

Everywhere is spotlessly clean, warm and cosy underfoot. We discussed breakfast, which all sounds fine and dandy
(see below for full menu) and Lesley laid up a space at table for me to photo. Nothing too much trouble,
that's the kind of landlady I like. Breakfast is served in the large guest lounge.
Two couples travelling together would love this set up all to themselves.

Lesley also offers details on local walks and how to get about the area. Just around the corner and a short
walk away is the Yelverton Paperweight Centre, open from April to October 7 days a week.
There are 2 pubs at hand and lots of good eating pubs just a drive away, ask Lesley.

Of course I had a good look at the visitor's book in the hall and it confirmed what I thought .... everyone loves it.
