Farmers Markets in Dartmoor and Devon
This being a county of farmers, we have lots of excellent Farmer's Markets. (If I missed any, then please let me know)


A chance to buy some home made cakes at the new produce market at South Tawton on March 12th this year.
Eleanor chose the passionfruit seed turnovers and Topaz bought a whole bagful of cake goodies. Details below.



South Tawton Produce and Craft Market in the Church House in the centre of the village.
Selling garden produce, eggs, baked goods, preserves, garden products, jewellery, cards, paintings, soaps, organic
dog food and locally made goods. Refreshments available. Contact Mark Freeman on 01837 840085 to take a stall.
Widecombe-in-the-Moor A village market usually on the 4th Saturday of the Month, 9.30 a.m. to 3.00 p.m
The market is held in the Church House, owned by The National Trust. With a wide range of produce, from olives,
olive oil to locally grown vegetables and plants. Cheeses, apple juice, honey, home made bread, cakes, jams, chutneys, beef, lamb and pork from local Widecombe farms. Contact Diana Cameron or Richard Holmes on 01364 621218

Tavistock A Farmer's Market at Bedford Square. The markets take place on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays each month
9 til 1 Everything on sale is produced locally and stall holders are the farmers, growers or producers themselves.

Bovey Tracey Produce Market takes place in the centre of the town every other Saturday. 8.30 to 1p.m.
Meat, fairtrade goods, cheeses, preserves and plants. Marion on 01626 834109 for more information.

Lewdown Produce market on the 1st Saturday of each month at the Victory hall in Lewdown
(between Moretonhampstead and Exeter) 10am to 1pm Stalls include Locally Baked Bread, Beef, Lamb, Pork, Poultry, Fish,Fruit & Vegetables, Herbs & Spices, Fresh Eggs, Tasty Local Cheese,
Hand Made Fudges, Home made Preserves, Antiques and bric a brac.
Manaton A village market. Each third Tuesday of the month is the day
for the Manaton Market, where you can buy lots of local goods including cakes, puddings and pies, honey, fresh eggs, cheese, meat from local
farms, pork, lamb, bacon, even locally made fudge.
Get yourselves along to the Parish Hall to find all these goodies.

Hittisleigh A village market. On the northern edge of the Moor is a cute little market which is
held each 2nd Saturday of the month starting from Saturday 13th February 10 to 12 noon in Hittisleigh village hall.
With local produce,
meat, cheese, plants, cakes, preserves etc. Contact Shirley for further information 01647 24453.
Okehampton Town market has over 20 busy stalls in the centre of town on the third Saturday of each month.
When the weather is right, there is a fresh fish stall, and
every week you can
buy locally produced meat, free range
eggs and chicken, venison,
bread and local cider along with
the very best in fresh vegetables, herbs and fresh yogurt.

Buckfastleigh has a small Farmers Market running from 9am to 1pm
every Thursday near the Globe Inn, in the town centre at Buckfastleigh.
But be prepared for the stall holders to not turn up in poor weather.
Whiddon Down Produce Market is held every 4th Saturday of the month in the Village Hall.
Vegetables, summer fruits, lots of jams and chutneys in season. Pies and yummy home made cakes..!
