With cafes, a dispensing chemist, banks, a well stocked wine shop, an ironmongers and a small supermarket.

You will know which one is the hand made soap shop by the heady aroma as you walk up the street.

Bed and breakfast rooms available on a minimum 2 day stay basis. Nine en-suite bedrooms in the main house and nine further en-suite rooms in the adjacent Coach House. Tea and coffee making, plus free access to The River Dart Country Park which saves adults £7.95 per person over the age of 5 years. The 3 ground floor bedrooms in the Coach House are equipped for wheelchair users and less able guests. I have yet to see these bedrooms but will do so soon.

This stunning country house was designed by Clough Williams-Ellis (famous for Portmeirion). Tennis court, so bring your tennis shoes. Jane and I went to visit Maddy in April this year and loved it. There is a suite at ground floor level that can be privately entered from the garden.

I very much like this large family house in the country. Nicky and David the owners asked me to come and take photos for their website 2 years ago, and then when they had made changes to a couple of the rooms I went back again to take more shots. It has 4 doubles and a super family attic room, sleeps up to 12. With play room, garden, swings and a BBQ. Ideal for larger family gatherings. Towels and linen are included in the price. Huge garden with off road parking. Dogs taken by arrangement
