Bovey Tracey on the south of Dartmoor.
3 miles up from the A38 at Drumbridges roundabout by Trago Mills. Bovey Tracey has an interesting range of shops including a chemist, banks, 4 charity shops, deli, butcher and fresh vegetables. Also an outdoor swimming pool.
For children a visit to the House of Marbles with it's giant marble run is a must.
Art lovers will enjoy a visit to the Devon Guild of Craftsmen at the bottom of town near to the car park.
Excellent cream teas are available at the Brookside cafe (above) click to read more about the Brookside cafe.

Nip into the Bovey Handloom Weavers just below the car park and see the looms in action and the tweed weaving
process explained. Great ties and travelling rugs. All very interesting and Stuart the owner is endlessly patient!

Bovey Tracey area Self Catering Accommodation

Fairly new to my website, the whole cottage is available, OR you can book just the ground floor. Audrey the owner will accept children over 6 years, and that's probably because they have productive glasshouses and stock (sheep, ponies called Juniper and Jester, ducks and hens) With a very strong self sufficiency ethic they sell surplus fruit and vegetables to lucky visitors. Do have a look at my review to see large photos and my own write up about this green and friendly accommodation.
