Just off the A38 on the south of the Moor has a lot going for it. The most impressive of which is the fabulous Buckfast Abbey. Animal lovers mustn't miss the Buckfast Butterfly Farm and Otter Sanctuary. Which just happens to be right
next door to the South Devon Railway. Climb aboard the steam train and journey down to Totnes for a super step
back in time. You can then take a boat trip down the River Dart to Dartmouth, which is another great experience.

Open from 10 - 5 each day, it has an undercover play area and lots to see and do for youngsters.

A fabulous new bed and breakfast on the Dartmoor scene that I know will soon become very popular. Not least because two of the bedrooms have their own private deck area overlooking a great view, and the owners are very eco conscious. They let their meadow grass grow for the local wildlife to enjoy. Guests are invited to sit alongside their pond to admire the dragonflies, damselflies, newts and birds. Debbie and Michael welcome dogs to stay overnight in their indoor utility room. Debbie is even keen to look after your dog whilst you go off to enjoy the day.

Alongside the main house, but entirely separate, this little cottage is perfect for two. With a king size bed under oak beams and beautiful country garden plus small lake, this has to be one of my top recommendations for a romantic honeymoon on Dartmoor. The shower room is on the ground floor as the bedroom takes up most of the space up aloft.
Julia and Martin are already in my list of very good b&b's and this little hideaway matches it in quality.
