Castle Drogo the last castle to be built in England, designed by Sir Edwin sitting high on the gorge, beyond the ancient graveyard. All very photogenic.

A great hotel with restaurant open to non residents. I love the suite at the front of the hotel and the sitting room is wonderfully relaxing with a real fire in the cooler months. I loved it. Very large garden with pond (toddlers and very young children would need supervision). The ground floor accommodation would be excellent for anyone in a wheelchair, provided the one step at the front door can be negotiated. It has especailly wide folding doors between the private sitting room and the double bedroom. There is a power shower in the bathroom, but it is within the bath, so here again, some thought must be given as to whether this is going to suit. Helpful owner keen for you to enjoy your stay.    Small but cosy self catering unit with a massive view. A cute hideaway with deer through the window and wildlife all around. Wendy and Dennis are horse friendly folk, so livery is available. This is a place for just 2 adults with a very definite non smoking rule. The living room and bedroom are both up steep stairs, so NO CHILDREN and it would be difficult for the less able bodied. The drive is not smooth, but the let is right on the Two Moors Way and the Mariner's Way so would be an excellent base. Dogs by arrangement with the owners.
