Lifton
Just off the north western edge of Dartmoor. Easy access from the A30 dual carriageway down into Cornwall.
Lifton used to be on the main road into Cornwall, and had traffic flooding through it every weekend of the Summer,
then the A30 was replaced with a dual carriageway to the North and it is now a quiet village. Lifton has 2 hotels,
the most notable being The Arundell Arms. But if you are looking for a good meal at a fair price in a good friendly
pub, then travel east through the lanes to Portgate where you will find The Harris Arms (see above).
The best accommodation by a mile will be found at Tor Cottage in nearby Chillaton. Go on ....treat yourselves...
You might like to consider a holiday in an upmarket yurt...

Devon Yurt have yurts to hire for a week or overnight. The yurts can house 4 or 6 and a travel cot is available too.
Very stylishly equipped with futons, logs to burn on the log burner, lantern light in the evenings and water provided.
On an organic farm with rare breed chickens, fruit and vegetables and fine views. Do have a look at the website.
