From Saturday 5th May to Sunday 17th June 'Engaging the Senses' an exhibition at the Devon Guild of Craftsmen in Bovey Tracey. Presenting work that entices and stimulates, Engaging the Senses examines ways that contemporary makers are exploring tactile and other sensory experiences through their work. Our senses of sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch, inform how we interpret and relate to the world. Craft offers a unique opportunity to connect with our senses and the natural world through experiencing a relationship with materials from the earth. The exhibition encompasses interactive installations and soundscapes engaging with multiple senses, increasing our awareness of how we interact with and respond to objects. Synesthesia art, made by artists who experience cross sensory perception, offers insight into how they experience mixed sensory responses, such as sounds as shapes, or words as colours or tastes. FREE entry. Open daily. 10am-5.30pm. Telephone 01626 8322233 or see more on the Devon Guild website
