What
better place to take a relaxing holiday than in the beautiful Dartmoor National Park ?
The Coach House on the
foothills of Hamel Down, is
only a step away from
the freedom of the Moors and
all the delights on
offer....
Dartmoor ponies, beautiful countryside, breathtaking
views and wildlife.
The Cottage sleeps up to 5 people.
It is a
detached granite built property in an idyllic location with stunning views
of Hamel Down. Situated 1¼ miles out of the village of Widecombe in
a quiet country
lane within two acres of the
owner's garden. It has a very
homely feel with full central heating and an easy to use wood burning
stove for
cooler days.
........And it's the perfect base from which to explore Dartmoor.

Accommodation
Large first floor
sitting room furnished with two comfy sofas TV, DVD
and wood burning stove.
Fully fitted downstairs kitchen, electric cooker, microwave,
washing machine and fridge freezer.
Downstairs dining hall and bathroom with
white suite and mixer shower. Upstairs, as well as the sitting room there is a Double bedroom
with views, a pretty single Bedroom and a third bedroom with bunk beds
which is ideal as
another single room or for 2 children. Bed linen is
provide, but we
ask guests to bring their own towels. |

Access from the cottage garden onto the open moors where cattle and
sheep wander freely
amongst the native wild ponies. (Some of which occasionally end up in the
garden)
Fresh eggs are available from
our own hens and ducks. |

The Garden has swings and a slide for youngsters. Visitors are
welcome
to enjoy the grounds and say hello to the
ponies in the paddock. A
separate eating /sitting area enables visitors to enjoy the peace and tranquillity and watch
the sun set over Hamel Down. There are several walks direct from the cottage, and as the village is
within walking
distance enabling you to leave your vehicle behind.
The old fashioned village of Widecombe has a Post Office
General Stores for provisions. Gift shops, tea
rooms and two traditional pubs with flagstone floors
and open fires. |

Both
pubs serve excellent lunchtime and evening meals.
The tennis courts in the village may be used by visitors
using our
membership. Pony trekking is available at local stables and
Widecombe has a colourful monthly
market
selling local produce including home made cakes, local beef, lamb, pork
and sausages. See
