Eating at The Sandy Park Inn.  What a good choice.

Head Chef Andrew Burkin has developed an local following for good quality pub food.
The emphasis is on local produced sourced in and around Dartmoor such as the roasting joints
used for Sunday lunch which are grazed and reared less than two miles from the pub.

Other dishes such as the pork and herb sausages hand made by local butcher Michael Howard at
Moretonhampstead.   Fresh fish dishes are always popular whether it be simple Beer Battered Cod &
Chips or pan seared tuna with salad nicoise, smoked haddock kedgeree or John Dory with dry roasted tomatoes
and warm buttered samphire.  Vegetarians are not forgotten, check out the hand made spinach and goats
cheese filo parcels with basil and parmesan or risotto with sauté courgettes, sweetcorn and parmesan.

"Andy Burkin doesn't disappoint with a menu of unpretentious pub food majoring on local produce.
The sole with lemon and almond is a smoky, chunky number, while the braised lamb shank with minted jus
just falls off the bone in juicy slabs. Even the beer battered cod elevates humble fish and chips to a rare flaky
freshness.  For puds, try the rhubarb and raspberry frangipane with clotted cream- a clever spoon and fork
'shadow' stencilled in cocoa proving chef can't resist just a little showboating."

" This is a cracking country boozer, loved by locals, and with food that punches above its weight. "
