Julia and Martin have a quality hideaway here, alongside the main house, but entirely separate, this little cottage is perfect for two. With a king size bed under oak beams and beautiful country garden plus small lake, this has to be one of my top recommendations for a romantic honeymoon on Dartmoor. The pleasant shower room is on the ground floor as the bedroom takes up most of the space up aloft. The kitchen is super too. I love it. Close enough for a steam train ride on the South Devon Railway.

This barn conversion with good views gets plenty of repeat bookings. Room for 6 plus a baby. Ruth Boswell told me that the barn is very family friendly rather than chic accommodation, and looking at the prices I see that it is very competitively priced. The highest charge in the school holidays is just £678and as low as £304 in low season. Babysitting on offer and stair gate, highchair and cot on request. Bed linen is included in the price but towels are extra. Some electricity (90 units) is included in the rental then charged.
2 bedroom and 3 bedroom timber clad lodges in this quiet quality campsite in a most picturesque setting alongside the River Tavy. A delightful family run site which has 125 pitches for camping and touring caravans, some static caravans and these 2 upmarket lodges. I went along to see inside them on a cold January day and was very impressed. They are modern, warm and spacious, light and spotlessly clean. Very swish indeed. Well equipped with everything from microwave to outside folding chairs to make the most of the relaxing verandah. Cox Tor has a family bathroom with shower and bath, and there is an en-suite shower room in the double bedroom. Electricity and bed linen included - just bring your own towels and tea towels. The kids will love the playpark and the riverbank. Everyone loves the resident ducks. Fly fishing available.

Inside this 2 bedroom (1 double, 1 twin) is smart, stylish and throughly well done. The 3 acre serene landscaped garden entices you to roam.
