We are a “locals” pub, open from midday every day, best described as traditional without being old-fashioned. We are family and dog friendly ensuring that all members of the clan can enjoy a visit to our cosy pub or fabulous garden! Regular live music events also form part of our weekly programme. We specialise in Real Ale, and feature in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide for 2017, but also offer a fine selection of local ciders, premium lagers & wines. Our accommodation features three charming double en-suite B&B rooms
Couldn't be more in the centre of things. An historic Inn with food, local ales, B&B, camping and bunkhouses to suit every pocket. The Elephant's Nest Inn is a quintessentially English - and Devonshire - country pub. The 3 generously sized en-suite B&B rooms are located in a newly built extension. Beautifully furnished with solid oak floors and under floor heating, all rooms have large Vi-Spring beds, soft goosedown duvets and pillows and luxurious soft furnishings. Being located in as remote a place as it is, great emphasis is placed on good food, although the pretentious 'gastro pub' description will not be heard here! The garden at the Nest is a 'must see'.
Between Okehampton and Tavistock, a lovely old thatched Inn serving real ale and a good range of wines. Known for it's high quality restaurant, with good West Country menus, this 800 year old hostelry also has 6 good en-suite letting rooms. 4 King size beds on offer, 3 family rooms + extra 'z' beds and cot available. Bar snacks available as well as most pleasant garden complete with stream and dovecote. Off road parking with pleasant flat walking and cycling on the Granite Way alongside. Bike hire close by.
There are 14 bedrooms at the Cromwell Arms in the heart of Bovey Tracey. One of them is a family room that can sleep up to 6, and the thing that I like is that they offer this room as "ideal for a group of people who are on a budget and don't mind sharing." What a wonderful way of putting it! Many groups of walkers are on a budget, so it's right, this is a good option. Add to that the fact that the pub offers good food, a pub quiz every Tuesday AND THAT there is also a therapy room for aromatherapy massage, reflexology and Reiki natural healing, then this looks just the place for a few nights away doesn't it?
