  • Dartmoor’s Daughter creates walks and nature connection experiences to improve physical health, emotional wellbeing, and mental acuity. We work with a range of different experts to offer guided walks and activities for adults, families, and children that include Navigation training; Nature Trails; Letterboxing; Painting & Sketching; Dowsing for Earth Energies; Wild Foods & Foraging; Mindfulness; Tracking, Astronomy evenings; Flora & Fauna; History & Archaeology; Ceremony and many more. Private guided walks, facilitated outdoor activities, and team days for groups, birthday events are also available. Anyone who joins our walks and events report a greater sense of wellbeing as well enjoyment, fun and learning.
  • Near to Tavistock. Award winning museum and visitor centre where friendly staff in costume chat with visitors. Exciting narrow gauge underground railway into the mine. This quayside family attraction runs alongside the very picturesque River Tamar. They have an occasional car show, and folk music event.
  • Torquay’s Dinosaur World, on Torquay’s inner harbour side, is the only exhibition of its kind in the south west. Full of amazing creatures, such as the terrifying T Rex, and the cute Triceratops, with fascinating fossils to discover, fun quizzes and dinosaurs to sit on, our fun interactive indoor exhibition brings the world of dinosaurs to life!

  • A great place for young children with activities such as feeding the animals, pony grooming, collecting the eggs, pony rides, putting the donkeys to bed at the end of the afternoon, and the pets corner is a delight for children of all ages.   • Enjoy Two 235m Zip Wires with Views over Dartmoor National Park. Go Ape’s first Tree Top Adventure in the South West. One of the best days out in Devon, if you’re looking for adventure activities near Exeter then you’ll enjoy an incredible 235m zip wire flying you from hilltop to hilltop followed by another (…just 15 minutes from Exeter)!
  • This is where you will find England's highest waterfall with a huge 220 foot drop. Nature and wildlife trails. Walks through woodland, wetlands, lakes and park land including an assault course and caterpillar swing. Play areas for children. Café. BBQs in summer. Cream teas. Gift shop.   • Powdermills Pottery is housed in granite buildings that were once part of a nineteenth century gunpowder factory. It is found in the very centre of Dartmoor National Park in Devon, and is part of the Duchy of Cornwall estate. Powdermills is the home and workplace of potter, Joss Hibbs. In the Shop, her range of pottery is sold alongside work by other Dartmoor craft-makers. Cream teas are served in the courtyard in the Summer season, and intensive Throwing Courses are run year-round.
  • Cholwell Riding Stables at Mary Tavy, situated between Okehampton and Tavistock and with direct access to rides across Dartmoor. Novice and experienced riders taken, qualified tuition, hard hats. Experienced escorts open all year. 1 hour ride £22, 90 minutes ride £31 and a 2 hour ride is £40.

  • An outdoor pursuits centre with many strings to its bow; Camp Mawazo caters for birthday parties, team building, skills training and just plain fun for all ages and abilities.
  • Cycle Hire is now available at Fox Tor Cafe, only £18.50 per adult per day, with the bonus of being able to get a hot drink (or something stronger) and a meal when you return from your bracing cycle!
  • The workshops will be within the Dartmoor National Park in Devon, England, using Acorn Lodge as a base and will be for all levels of photographers who want to learn real wildlife photography. The photography workshop package includes as much as possible to help you learn and improve all the aspects of being a wildlife photographer from using your camera, through the picture taking process, to the end image and post production workflow.
