What's nearby?:
If you would like a personalised, guided tour of Dartmoor or any part of Devon, we recommed Alex Graeme, a local expert who runs Unique Devon Tours There are historic houses such as Saltram near Plymouth; castles such as Castle Drogo near Chagford and many beautiful gardens and nurseries to visit. Dartington Hall near Totnes is nearby where many musical and cultural events take place including their International Summer School and the now very popular Telegraph Ways With Words fortnight held each July. The delightful small town of Ashburton is less than 10 minutes away. Known for its antique and specialist shops it now also has the very successful International Cookery School and students often stay with us while attending their courses. There are lovely coastal walks to enjoy and the whole of Dartmoor with its charming villages and historic sites to explore. There are golf courses and horse riding stables nearby and wonderful walking country on the doorstep.
