Tucked at the end of an uneven private track, about ½ mile from the shop and pub in Postbridge, an extension of a Victorian farmhouse surrounded by mature trees and granite, moss-covered walls, and beyond, moorland pasture and the crystal clear East Dart River (small trout fishing). At the back, accessed via the track, an enclosed tree-sheltered large lawn and shrub garden; to the front, a footpath leading to the village and pub (about 5 minutes, but remember torch!).
Steps up to covered porch and French windows; large, comfy open-plan living/dining/kitchen with huge inglenook (woodburner), TV/DVD, neat kitchen area (washer-drier, microwave, freezer, larder fridge, electric cooker with induction hob). Stairs (stairgates) from the living area up to landing and two bedrooms – a double (5' bed, TV) with lovely views, and a twin with view of the garden. Bathroom (suite, shower over bath plus hand-shower). Spring water. Sleeps maximum of 2 children.A wonderfully private spot, excellent for walkers.
Reviews
The Annexe was in an ideal location to access lots of walks on Dartmoor without having to drive. It is in a very peaceful spot. The village is only a short walk away. The house was very warm and comfortable and well equipped for self catering.
