On the edge of Holne, attached to the owners’ home, a comfortable ‘upside down’ cottage created from one end of a barn. Enclosed, level lawned garden (table/chairs) beyond the cottage with lovely rural and moorland views.
Upstairs, very well thought out open-plan living/dining/kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, electric cooker) with woodburner, TV/DVD, painted beams to apex, wood floors and 5 steps down to door to garden. Stairs (stairgates) down to entrance hall and three bedrooms – a double (5’ bed) with en suite bathroom (suite, shower over bath, washer-drier in cupboard), another pretty double (footboard), and a twin with en suite shower-room (suite); smart shower-room (suite). A really well considered and very welcoming base from which to explore both Dartmoor and the South Hams.
The Stone Barn was perfect for us in every way. Special mention for the incredible warmth in wintertime from the underfloor heating and wood burner. Really lovely owners, so laid back and friendly, even offering their hen's eggs complimentary if you are game to collect them! Great location, close and yet far enough from the A38. Proper pub within walking distance at Scorriton, upper River Dart walks, Dartmoor Tors and beaches within easy reach. Loved it! Thank you very much for creating such a wonderful property.
